In the1986 World cup finals, Diego Maradona, the Argentinian footballer, broke English hearts as he scored a goal with his hand which helped knock England out of the world cup.

On Sunday 16th May 2021 Alisson Becker, the Liverpool goal keeper, scored a goal (a header) in the last seconds of the game to give his team the win over West Brom.

Keeping alive Liverpool’s chance of finishing in the top four of the Premier League, Becker, a committed Christian said, “You can’t explain those things in life, for me the only reason is God; He put his hand on my head today, I am feeling really blessed.” Earlier this year Alisson’s father Jose Becker, aged 57, died after drowning in a lake in Brazil. ,It has been the most difficult time for him and his family. ,What a difference in the hand of god and the head of God!!!

Maradona’s goal will always be remembered for all the wrong reasons. ,He cheated! Becker is the only Liverpool goalie to have scored a goal, let alone such an important one. His was from sheer determination!

Ted Hastings in Line of duty asks two questions: What has happened to us? When did we stop caring about honesty and integrity? Honesty and integrity may not be the most popular traits in life. If Maradona was honest, Argentina may not have won the world cup!

Jesus hated dishonesty, in particular he hated believers who were dishonest – He called them hypocrites! Let’s try to live lives of integrity and determination. In the long run it will really pay off.
